The LCC Learn to Curl program had another great year in 2019 with 25 very enthusiastic graduates, and we’re looking forward to continuing the program for the 2021-2022 season. In fact, we’re planning a “give it a try” session, designed by CurlOntario, as soon as the ice is in, so you can get a feel for what you’ll be learning out there.

The program is intended to have you learn the basics and the techniques of the game, so you will ready to join in with graduates from the last few LTC groups, and actually play during the second half of the season.

An annual Bonspiel, celebrating the program, is held each December. Congratulations to the 2019 winners: the team of Matt Pelow, Beth McCelland and Matt Richardson, pictured below, with the highly-coveted L2C trophy.

Learn to Curl has been running at LCC since 2010, and roughly 30% of the club’s active curlers are graduates of the program. Its success is totally the result of our skilled and dedicated crew of coaches, led by John Humphrey – thanks to all of you!

Many of 2019-2020’s graduates will be joining some previous years’ Learn to Curl graduates in the Novice League on Sunday mornings. The league is open to curlers with less than three years experience, and also includes players from our Junior program. The Novice League runs from January  to March and will have room for a full complement of 32 curlers.
