Faith Ride Bonspiel Marmora Feb 28

The Annual Faith Ride Memorial Bonspiel took place at the Marmora Curling Club on Feb 28. The Lakefield Curling Club was represented by 7 curlers from the Day Ladies Curling League. Faith was an avid curler with the Peterborough Country Club. She passed away in 2008 and her family has sponsored the last bonspiel of the Interclub Ladies League season since then. Jack Ride, Faith's husband was at the club to attend games and to present the winning team with the Faith Ride trophy. All year long women curlers from the surrounding area send team entries to compete at various Curling Clubs but this Bonspiel has all of the curlers mixed to promote friendship through competition. Team Collison place first overall. Deb Wiltshire from Lakefield CC was vice. Jennifer Ride-Barker from the Lakefiled CC is the daughter of Faith Ride in whose name the bonspiel was founded, Jennifer curled for Team Woodruff who placed second overall. Our thanks goes out to the Ride Family for their continued support of curling in the community.
