Having Problems Logging in to the Website

I have helped a number of members who have had issues logging into the club website. They tell me that when they try to log in they are told that their id or password is invalid. I suggest they use the 'forgot your username?' or 'forgot your password?' functions to reset their password and they said they have tried that. So when I ask them to show me how they log in to the club website I see that they are using a password manager that is automatically filling in their user id and password for them. In these cases the password that is being entered is not the right one because they changed their password but the password in the password manager is incorrect.

While password managers can be very helpful and I recommend that people use them, if the password they have stored is not correct and you don't realize it is wrong then it is going to cause problems. So if you are using a password manager - like Keychain in Apple or google password manager in Chrome/Android - then make sure if has the correct password. Most password managers allow you to either view or manually edit your passwords so I suggest you start there. I use google's password manager so I know how to check the passwords if there are issues.

If you do want to change your password on the club website, login and then access 'My Profile' under the members menu. Under the Membership Info tab you can change your password. You must use a password of at least 8 characters including an uppercase letter and one number. Longer is better and if you are using a password manager it can usually generate a nice secure password for you. I suggest you log out and then log back in again with your new password to make sure it works and if you also have a password manager it will usually offer to save/update your new password.

Again, if you forget either your id or password use the 'forgot your username?' or 'forgot your password?' functions on the login page to help recover these.

Passwords are slowing being replaced with the more secure and easier to use passkeys and hopefully one day this capability will be added to our website. Until then we are stuck with passwords.

If you are still having issues or have any other questions don't hesitate to contact me (webmaster@lakefieldcurlingclub.ca) and I will do my best to assist.
